This all started about 5 or 6 years ago. This nagging feeling that there was something big going to happen. I had no idea what it could be. I mostly thought it was something personal to me. Something was going to happen that would change my life in a big way. The last thing that I wanted was more profound change in my life, but the feeling wouldn’t go away. As we moved into 2019, I started having a feeling of hanging on to extra bottles of water and canned goods. I have a camping stove that runs solely off of tree branches that I hadn’t ever really used and was going to get rid of but this deep feeling told me “no, you need to hang on to it”. I spoke to my mom about it and she had said that she had started buying extra canned goods and water every time she went to the grocery store as she also had this feeling that something was coming (note that neither of us stocked up on toilet paper).
Then the pandemic hit in 2020 with everyone going into lockdown and the world held its breath to see what was going to happen. Oddly, I felt a sense of relief as this felt like the thing I was waiting for. Thankfully I didn’t have to break out the camping stove and didn’t have to tear pages out of books to wipe my ass.
Now, 4 years later I have that same feeling again but much stronger. It started early last year actually and has grown in intensity. Now it’s a feeling that is there every day. It’s at a point that it’s now just an ingrained understanding colouring everything that there is a big thing coming and everything we know is going to change. It’s unshakeable and actually getting pretty annoying. Mom is having the same feelings so that’s a good indicator I’m not losing my mind. Recently, I’ve been seeing more people post about having the same feeling (even people who aren’t all woo wooed up).
I keep trying to figure out what it is and when it will be, but Head Office isn’t giving any spoilers; here’s what I’ve learned so far:
· It’s not a world war (that’s not to say there won’t be one, but it’s not associated with this feeling)
· It will affect everyone on the planet
· It will change how we see the world, ourselves and others - for the better
· It will be a defining catalyst for generations to come
· There will be a distinct split between the people who want to go with it and those who don’t
I like to think it’s going to be captain Kirk coming back in time and landing the Enterprise on the White House lawn.
I kind of think it has something to do with aliens but that might just be for my own amusement.
I really wish that it will be fun and light and full of bubbles and laughter but there’s no way that it’s not going to be a bumpy ride through to the ‘undiscovered country’ (another Star Trek reference).
‘til next week!
