From Rob Schneider (of Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo fame) to Candace Owens to Russell Brand to the narcissist up the street it seems that in the past few months I’m hearing of more and more people on the Christianity band wagon (note this is about Christianity and not Catholicism. Different things in many important ways). As the world evolves to a new level of consciousness and we inch closer and closer to a great pivotal shift, this move towards Christianity has me totally fascinated.
It was a month or so now when I first heard of a celebrity converting to Christianity. I thought, “wow I never thought I’d see that happening!” Shortly after, the next Jesus domino to fall was Russell Brand. I’ve been following his content for a few years now. As far as I know he hadn’t followed any one faith but believed in the importance of all faiths. He even has tattoos of symbols from many different faiths. I was stunned to hear that he got baptized and is all in on the Jesus train. When I did a search I found that there are several celebrities that have climbed aboard that same train.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, a friend of mine has a former partner who is still in her life (baby daddy) and he has also found Christianity through a local church. Unfortunately, he is using it as a new way to abuse my friend. He just feels it’s more justified because ‘it’s coming from God’. Sadly, he can’t see he’s doing the same shit just holding a bible when he’s doing it.
Seeing all of this, I had to sit with it to see what was going on. I was so fascinated! If we’re moving towards this enlightenment of our consciousness then why are people embracing these old books and ideas from 2000 years ago that have been used to slaughter and torture millions of people (I’m being a bit overly dramatic here, but not really) for 2 millennia?
First of all, it’s not the books (the Bible is a compendium of several books) it is how people have chosen to twist the words to suit their needs to get people to do what they wanted them to do. Pick any of your favourite holy wars as examples. Secondly, though the Bible is a compendium of many books, it’s actually 2 compendiums put together. The Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is staggeringly violent and soap opera like. Think Game of Thrones. It’s not to say that the entire book is that way but a significant enough chunk of it is and easy to interpret in ways to fit the dark desires of some. The second book, the New Testament, is largely about Jesus and his teachings of Love and caring.
Christianity is (and should be, in my opinion) largely focused on the New Testament as it is the book mostly dedicated to Jesus Christ. What I realized is that the draw to Christianity is less about an organized religion (with weekly meetings in designated buildings) and more about feeling a connection to Christ consciousness - the energy/feeling of the teachings of Jesus, what he stood for and represents. Christ consciousness is a very powerful thing to embody no matter what your beliefs (the son of God bit aside). I believe that we are all moving towards fully embodying Christ consciousness as we move through our ascension process.
It’s my belief that those who are newly feeling a connection to Christianity right now are in actuality feeling a pull to begin their ascension process and are feeling the pull of Christ consciousness.

Yes, to Christ Consciousness which is, as Teillhard de Chardin said, about harnessing the power of love. I hesitate to say that the old testament is largely a Game of Thrones violent epic while the New testament is about Jesus' love and caring. There is great wisdom in both testaments, however, both can be used to support division and conflict. This is a good piece that reminds us never to weaponize the scriptures of any faith tradition.
